Pointer Boats were flat-bottomed boats designed by John Cockburn. This boat was like nothing else designed at the time - it was able to carry 8 men down a river in only 5 inches of draft. They were manufactured for over 100 years and the last to be built and delivered was in 1969. This pointer can be found in the southern part of Manitou Lake, adjacent to the portage to Three Mile Lake.
