Pointer Boats were flat-bottomed boats designed by John Cockburn. This boat was like nothing else designed at the time - it was able to carry 8 men down a river in only 5 inches of draft. They were manufactured for over 100 years and the last to be built and delivered was in 1969. This pointer can be found submerged at the end of St. Andrews Lake, just about 100m pr so away from the portage to High Falls Lake.
